A baler is the engine of any cardboard recycling program. When it runs well, loose boxes become dense, uniform bales that are easy to store, quick to load, and valuable to recycle. When it’s down, cardboard piles up within hours. Greene Recycling offers baler service to help keep your equipment producing good bales so your pickups stay on schedule.
The quality of your bales affects everything that comes after. Solid, well-tied bales stack safely, load quickly, and hold their value in the recycling market. Loose or uneven bales take more space and more handling. Good baler service protects the rebate you earn through our brokerage program and keeps your dock or stockroom clear.
Any of these is a reason to call. Catching a problem early is far easier than working around a baler that has stopped.
Because we also run your cardboard bale pickup, our team sees how your baler is performing every time a truck comes by. That connection makes baler service simpler. You deal with one company for the equipment and the haul, and both stay on the same schedule.
Volume changes. A store adds product lines, a warehouse takes on new clients, or a restaurant group opens new locations. If your current baler can’t keep up, we can talk through options that fit your floor space and the bale sizes your team can handle. We pick up bales from 180 lbs up to 1,200 lbs, so there is room to grow. For very high volume, a 40-yard compactor may be the better fit.
Most stores and restaurants use vertical balers, which load from the front and fit in a small footprint. Larger warehouses and plants often use horizontal balers that handle much more volume and produce heavier bales. Both types work with our pickup routes. If you aren’t sure which type fits your site, we can talk through the trade-offs with you.
Placement matters as much as the machine. A baler near the receiving area means employees carry boxes a short distance, and finished bales sit close to the door for pickup. Leave enough clear floor space to load the chamber safely and to move finished bales with a pallet jack. Good lighting and a clear path to the dock make the whole process faster for your team and for our drivers.
A baler is heavy equipment, and good habits protect both your people and your machine:
Federal workplace safety guidance on balers and compactors is available from OSHA.
