Three Decades in the Cardboard Business

Greene Recycling began in 1995, when Tommy and Elizabeth Stubblefield started a cardboard recycling company with routes in Texas and Oklahoma. Their approach was straightforward: pick up on time, treat every customer’s cardboard as a resource instead of trash, and keep as much of it out of the landfill as possible. That approach built a loyal customer base and a reputation for reliability that still defines the company today.

For twenty-five years the business grew steadily as a regional cardboard recycling company. It refined the brokerage model that lets customers earn rebates on their baled cardboard, and it learned what businesses really need from a recycling partner: consistent schedules, flexible service, and a team that answers the phone.

A New Chapter Under Christy Greene

In 2020, Christy Greene took ownership of the company. She kept the founding commitment to dependable service and set a new goal: turn a respected regional provider into a national cardboard recycling company that multi-location businesses could rely on in every market they operate.

That shift changed how the company works. Routes expanded beyond Texas and Oklahoma into New Mexico, Illinois, and Missouri, and then into states from Washington to Mississippi. Today the company supports larger customers with baler service, 30-ft roll-off delivery with dump and return, and 40-yard compactors for rental and service, and it counts national retail brands such as Walgreens and Crate & Barrel among its clients.

Where We Are Today

Today Greene Recycling serves more than 500 locations. Our trucks run active routes in 13 states, and we service businesses in all 50. We pick up bales from 180 lbs to 1,200 lbs on weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or will-call schedules, and our brokerage model means the more bales we pick up, the higher the rebate we can extend to our customers.

The company is headquartered in Georgetown, Texas, and coordinates service nationwide from there. Customers range from single stores to national chains with hundreds of sites. Whatever the size of the account, the standard is the same one the company was founded on: show up when you said you would, and make recycling simple.

Why Our History Matters to Customers

Choosing a cardboard recycling company is a long-term decision. You want a partner that will still be there next year, that can grow with you as you open new locations, and that has the experience to handle seasonal swings and changing volumes. Three decades in the business, combined with a national expansion that is still under way, gives our customers both stability and reach.

It also means we understand the economics of cardboard. We know how bale weight, cleanliness, and pickup frequency affect value, and we use that knowledge to build programs that save money and earn rebates. That expertise is what separates an experienced cardboard recycling company from a hauler that treats cardboard like trash.

Committed to Less Waste

Corrugated cardboard is one of the most widely recycled packaging materials in the United States, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Every bale we collect goes back into the supply chain instead of a landfill. Helping businesses recycle more, and making it easy for them to do it, has been the mission of this cardboard recycling company since day one.
